big bear weekend
jus took me to big bear this weekend! it was absolutely incredible! it is unreal to me how we can live in warm, sunny los angeles, california and then drive an hour and a half away and be in the cold, snowy mountains! we came from 70 degree weather into freezing weather!! we drove up this giant mountain (ELEV: 10,000') & into big bear lake (POP: 6200, ELEV: 6326') and enjoyed eating at hometown restaurants, saw a movie, enjoyed our in room jacuzzi & fireplace, checked out the ski slopes (didn't ski, i wasn't quite ready for that adventure) and relaxed!
we plan on visiting big bear quite often. i want to learn to ski, jus wants to snowboard, there are plenty of day hikes & maybe if we can get emily stokes out here she can take us riding up there. what do you think em?

Yay for skiing and snowboarding. I just learned to snowboard this past week, and Mark and I would LOVE to be in the mts right now! Live it up!

It looks Amazing!! Sign me up....How long did it take you to get there. We were going to try to ski Friday, but we have stepped into the artic freezer! We went from 60/70's to the single digits not including the wind...NO thanks.

Hey Guys! It sounds like a great time. I have to agree that Big Bear is an amazing place. I think it's proximity and contrast to LA makes it that much better.
i'm with you b. love it! we should go skiing/boarding sometime up there this winter, ah?!
