we out!

we are going to the beach! we can't wait to tell you about it when we get back. so...just know that we are having fun in the sun and there is nothing like the BEACH! on monday, jes and i are celebrating anniversary number 1. WOOOHOOOOO! pray for an adventurous day and a great week of weather. we love you heaps!

one week

we are counting the days down to our week vacation near myrtle beach with both our families. ONE WEEK! fun in the sun, burnt to a crisp...you know how it goes when your short, white, and white.


this weekend has been wonderful. friday we picked up jes's brother josh and we spent a good portion of the weekend recording a new worship ep. i want to warn you, this album is going to be different. our vision is to see it sound like a techno rock worship album. did you get that? i still don't, but we are trying to create a fusion of techno and rock. when jes walked in and heard the second song, her eyes got really wide like...what the??? so we'll see what it sounds like in the end.


two other great things this weekend were seeing the new movie 'little black book'. it's a romantic comedy. it was better than we even thought. great ending...i won't share it. so rent it, or go see it if you like that kinda movie. i'm a sucker for chick flicks!


we also spent sunday with the bruce's who were in town for ordination service. it was so refreshing to reconnect with them. so in a nutshell, that's our weekend. love you guys. keep in touch please or we will come searching for you!

from GODIVA CHOCOLATIER!!!!

so yesterday justin & i were shopping & as we walked by the GODIVA store jus said, "c'mon, let's get some chocolate covered strawberries". i resisted at first, but was easily persuaded with the second, "c'mon". we asked the kind cashier for 4, yes 4 stawberries (you can't have just one)-- & then i added that i would like a raspberry filled starfish as well. he walks off to fetch our goodies & i handed justin $6--yep I thought it would cost us no more than $6!!! the kind cashier comes back & is ringing us up when justin says, "it will probably be more than this--" i get out a second 5-spot. "$17.30", says the kind cashier,"would you care to sign up & receive 2 free truffles the next time you are in?" i looked up at him & nodded--startled by the total i was given. i handed justin a 10-spot this time & began laughing to myself. i filled out the paper for the two free truffles, thanked the kind cashier & Justin & i were on our way. We waited until we were out of sight & then began to laugh-- "how could we not have known?", "we could have gone out for dinner tonight!", "i had no idea that it was going to be that much? did you?", "well, I knew it wasn't going to be $6." we laughed & laughed-- they were absolutely delicious!! the most wonderful strawberries & chocolate we have ever had--i am saving my starfish.

you might think we are stupid, or think how could you not have realized...we just didn't. justin wanted to buy me a special treat--it was a wonderful treat! it made our day so much fun & for sure a lasting memory. we will always think of that day whenever we see chocolate covered strawberries or anything GODIVA!!
